Everyone knows how to carry out an internal audit but are we aware of the changed environment that our organisations are working in. This interactive one day course will consider whether internal audit needs to change the way it works and what it looks at. There will be opportunities for delegates to discuss good practice examples and consider some of the issues that they may encounter. The areas covered will include such key issues as: treasury management, asset management, value for money and customer involvement and scrutiny.

For Audit Committee members, as well as identifying what they get from internal audit the session will also include a review of whether auditors are providing the right information at the right time. Delegates are invited to bring along audit plans and reports and there will be an open forum to discuss the best ways for auditors to get their information across to Audit Committees.
