Leadership course for HIAs and aspiring HIAs
One theme to come out of the consultation on the Head of Internal Audit (HIA) statement is whether HIAs are adequately prepared to do the work that is expected of them; and whether the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA) should support members by running a leadership course for HIAs and aspiring HIAs.
One possibility is to run a five day course covering a range of topics, but which also helps develop presentation and influencing skills. An outline of such a course can be downloaded below.
HIAF and CIPFA would be grateful for your initial thoughts both on the idea. Is there the demand given the current financial climate, and do you think the balance and breadth of topics within the proposed course is good.
Please respond to Gordon Mattocks by 23 November with your feedback.
