National Anti Fraud Network

Some of you may remember that a few months ago we invited volunteers to participate in a free pilot of National Anti-Fraud Network (NAFN) services for HIAF members. This was to test the water for any demand from the housing sector for those services already available to local authorities. The good news is that a number of associations have participated and the NAFN has agreed to extend the pilot for some months past the original end date of 31 March 2009 to further encourage participation.

This is an opportunity for associations to sample the services available, and those most likely to be of interest to HIAF members include:

  • Tracing former residents to chase outstanding rent arrears
  • Overnight identification of registered owners of abandoned vehicles
  • Confirmation of the identity of house occupants
  • Company reports
  • Credit reports.
