HIAF responds to the TSA's consultation on a new regulatory framework for social housing in England
HIAF has responded to the Tenant Services Authority consultative document on regulating the housing sector. Launched in November 2009, the TSA's proposals included establishing a new framework with a clear focus on de-regulation and reducing burdens where appropriate. This included a commitment to remove the requirements from all previous guidance and circulars issued by the Housing Corporation, where possible. This amounted to the Regulatory Code and Guidance; 54 circulars (of a total of 58) and all good practice notes. Requirements set out in circular 07/07 and Good Practice Note 15, which set out a clear framework for risk management, internal controls assurance, internal audit and the prevention and detection of fraud, will therefore be removed.
